Monument Unveiling
September 11th, 2010 3 PM - 4 PM
LOCATION: Field of Valor (near the Main Street entrance)
Join us as we unveil and dedicate a monument to honor those men and women who lost their lives in the Persian Gulf War, Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. The monument was made possible by a grant secured by New York State Assemblymember Sam Hoyt (D-Buffalo, Grand Island). The monument – which is believed to be the first monument in Western New York dedicated exclusively to these conflicts – is located in Forest Lawn’s Field of Valor in the Erie County American Legion veterans’ section, the largest veterans’ resting place in Western New York, providing perpetual care for tens of thousands of soldiers from every conflict since the Revolutionary War.
