Learn more about your history

Completion of a Genealogy Request is done at the convenience of our cemetery staff. Burials are top priority at our cemeteries, so it may take several weeks before you receive a response with the information from our archives. After receipt of the Genealogy Request Form and the appropriate payment, our staff will conduct the research in our files and send you the following:

  1. A copy of the lot register which may include:
    • Names of individuals buried on lot
    • Dates of death
    • Diagram of lot (unless it is a single grave)
    • Relationship of decedent to lot owner
    • Type of outer case (vault) or “cremains” (cremated body)
    • Lot owner & (date of purchase)
    • Location of headstone (dark rectangular shapes on copy)
  2. Individualized Information. (For Deaths between 1875 and 1932, we may have information for individuals which includes the following categories, only if provided to us at the time of death. Some details may be available for deaths from 1850 to 1875, but we need a death date from you to conduct the research.)
    • Name of deceased
    • Place of birth (such as the city) - very general (or only country if not USA)
    • Place of death (such as the city) - very general
    • Date of death
    • Date of burial (not always listed)
    • Marital status
    • Late residence (very general)
    • Age at death (A date of birth is never available.)
    • Location of grave
    • Undertaker
    • Parent(s) names

For deaths after 1932, the records took on several different formats regarding the information available. In some - but not all - they have added information such as the Next of Kin. Due to privacy requirements, the Next of Kin and cause of death information is not released.

The fee for Genealogy Research is:

  • $20.00 for up to three names
  • $30.00 for four to six names
  • $30.00 plus an additional $5.00 for every name search over six names.  For example, for seven names the cost would be $35.00, for eight names the cost would be $40.00, etc.

Please complete this form if you wish to start a genealogy search. If you wish to complete a paper submission and mail it instead, you can download the Genealogy Request Form (PDF, 56kb). You can also call our office at (716) 885-1600 for more details.
