A hidden treasure in Hamburg, NY

Lakeside is truly a beautiful place to celebrate a life. A recent “renaissance” restored the beauty and peacefulness of this historic Southtowns treasure. Indeed, one visit will make you proud that you have chosen Lakeside’s extraordinary tranquil setting as a final resting place. A variety of burial options are available: traditional burial, mausoleums, cremation, estate and feature lots. There are also options that help you create a custom landscape design for your family’s estate/feature lot.

You may be pleasantly surprised to know that only a small portion of Lakeside’s 220 acres are visible from Camp Road. At that entrance, one can enjoy the cemetery mausoleum and 15 acres of meadow leading to the formal “Forest” entrance. Once you drive through this beautiful natural wooded entrance, the entire 220+ acres of natural beauty opens to historic traditional monument sections and sections dedicated to lawn level memorials only. Unique monuments, stands of trees, curvilinear roads, soft rolling topography, a stream, a lake and areas of still untouched forests are all part of this peerless Southtowns cemetery known as Lakeside.

Lakeside became part of The Forest Lawn Group in 1998, when a merger united Forest Lawn Cemetery of Buffalo and Lakeside Cemetery of Hamburg.

Today the station serves as the office and arrangement room for the Lakeside Cemetery.

Arrangements – In Ground – Casket or Cremation Graves

Lakeside has one of the most – if not the most affordable - traditional graves in Western New York starting at $300 for lawn level memorial privilege and $350 for upright memorial privilege. (Two or more graves are required in order to erect an upright memorial.)

Recently a newly landscaped section (Section N) has been designed which offers both lawn level and upright privileges. The landscaping is maintained by the cemetery.
Prices range from $800 per grave space for lawn level privilege to $1,200 per grave space for Landscaped Monument privilege. (Prices listed are before pre-need discounts that are offered monthly.) In most other sections, the price range per grave is $600 for lawn level memorial privilege and $650 for upright memorial privilege.

The New and Beautifully Landscaped Section N

  • Private estate and feature lots are available, where you are able to design the space with landscaping and/or erect either a private mausoleum, sarcophagus, benches and/or monument all to help you create your own “family cemetery” within the cemetery.
  • New Private Scattering is now available in existing traditional graves where no casket burial has taken place or with a new purchase of casket size or urn size graves. The Private Scattering may occur directly in the earth or with a bio-degradable urn directly in the earth.
  • "Field of Valor" - New Veterans area for distiguished burial of Veterans and Spouse. No matter the choice for casketed or cremation burial, this area is for either the veteran alone or the veteran and spouse. Veterans will be recognized by an impressive upright tablet of stately white marble provided by the Government without charge.  To learn more about this new area and available discounts call our non-commissioned Family Service Representatives at (716) 649-5507 or email lakeside@forest-lawn.com

Arrangements – Above Ground

Lakeside cemetery offers above ground options in their community mausoleum located at the Camp Road entrance.

Crypt prices (above ground space for a casketed body) start at $5,200 for a single casket space (of which there is a limited number) and $8,500 for a companion casket space (space for two) before pre-arrangement discounts.

Niches are also available for the above ground placement of a cremated body.
