Buffalo Cultural Walk Of Fame Induction Scheduled for Friday, July 15th, 2011 at Elmwood and Bidwell at 9:00AM

Posted on July 14th, 2011

Buffalo, NY (July 14, 2011) - International All-Star Sports Council (IASC) and Cultural Concert International present the annual installation for the Buffalo Cultural Walk of Fame on Friday, July 15, 2011 at 9:00 am.

The Buffalo Cultural Walk of Fame was created to honor the many Western New Yorkers who have enriched the world with their artistic contributions in Literary, Visual, and Performing Arts. To maintain the legacy of our vast heritage, their names are engraved in granite plaques and permanently recessed into the sidewalk at Elmwood Avenue and Bidwell Parkway. This location is the gateway to our cultural corridor. This encompasses the Albright Knox Art Gallery; the Burchfield Penney Center; Forest Lawn; Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy, and the Buffalo & Erie County Historical Society. The following plaques are being installed:

David Shire Songwriter Saturday Night Fever
Lucille Ball Comedy I Love Lucy
Tony DeMarco Movies Dancer
Amanda Blake Movies Gunsmoke
Tom Fontana Writer Television
Leonard Pennario Music Piano Virtuoso
Frances M. Wolcott Writer Heritage of Years
Rick James FL Music Singer
Seymour H. Knox, Jr. FL Funder Albright-Knox Gallery
Elvin “Shep” Shepherd FL Musician Saxophone / Jazz

Interred at Forest Lawn FL

The words, “Interred at Forest Lawn” will be engraved on plaques of all new inductees who can be found at this iconic cemetery. The IASC and Cultural Concert International are very excited to continue working with Forest Lawn and its president. Joseph P. Dispenza.

“Both organizations strive to promote the incredible individuals from this area and together we can help show that to the world,” said Charles Griffasi Sr., President of IASC and founder of the Buffalo Cultural Walk of Fame.

This annual induction is part of an ongoing commitment by International All-Star Sports Council and Cultural Concert International to enrich our city through local culture. For more information please visit our website at www.iascinc.org/culture.
