Caring for 160 years of history

Mission Statement
The mission of the Forest Lawn Heritage Foundation is for the charitable and educational purposes of assisting in the preservation of the natural beauty and historic integrity of Buffalo City Cemetery (known as Forest Lawn Cemetery) in Buffalo, New York, and increasing public knowledge, awareness and appreciation of the unique cultural, historic, architectural and natural resources of the Cemetery.

The Forest Lawn Heritage Foundation also helps educate teachers, students and the public about the vast cultural, historical, and natural resources you’ll find at Forest Lawn.

The Forest Lawn Cemetery Heritage Foundation Education Center – an online educational resource designed for teachers by teachers to provide a place to access information, view and/or contribute lesson activities, and communicate with each other all about the vast resources of Forest Lawn.

In addition, the Foundation is helping with ongoing recovery efforts from the 2006 October Surprise Storm that caused more than $1,200,000 in damage at our cemeteries. Click here to learn more, and see how you can help.
