Important Information Regarding the Coronavirus Outbreak

We’re all in this together — making sacrifices and taking steps to protect the health and safety of not only ourselves, but those around us. With that in mind, we have significantly reduced the cemetery’s on-site staffing to ensure compliance with NYS social distancing mandates. Given staff reductions and the need to focus on our most essential functions of burials and cremations, the following changes are in place until further notice: As directed by government, the cemetery office is open to the public for essential services only, including at-need and pre-need burial and cremation arrangements. Please call (716) 885-1600 to schedule an appointment. You can find the burial location of a loved one on our website using the “Locate a Loved One” tool. Our public restrooms are closed due to our limited staff being fully deployed for burials, and unable to clean and disinfect the restrooms in a timely fashion. Due to limited staff being fully deployed to maintain essential services of burials and cremations, we may be unable to cut and maintain the grass to the same standards you’ve come to expect from us. As monument dealers are closed by government order, markers, monuments and mausoleum inscriptions are delayed. Our Delaware & Delavan gate close daily at 5:00pm. Our Main St. gates close daily at 4:00pm. To protect the health & safety of all visitors, be sure to abide by government mandated social distancing protocols of a minimum of 6 ft of space between individuals. Remember that the following activities are prohibited on the grounds of Forest Lawn: NO PETS, NO BICYCLES, NO SKATEBOARDS, NO CLIMBING (on Monuments), NO SCOOTERS, NO IN-LINE SKATES. We will get through this...together! Thank you for your patience and understanding during this difficult time.

Where memories live and the stories are told.

There's no place like Forest Lawn.

Forest Lawn is one of America's premier historic cemeteries.  Unmatched natural beauty – hills, valleys, lakes and streams.  Sculptural masterpieces.  Living history.  Most importantly, the stories - of those who now rest in peace under our care.  These stories shouldn’t end here.  They are ready to be discovered and to have the next chapters written. We invite you to read more about our history, plan a visit, become a member or access our extensive archives of historic documents.

Honoring Vietnam Veterans Killed in Action

We are very pleased to make the outstanding work of Forest Lawn Historian Patrick Kavanagh accessible to the world.  Pat, who is himself a Vietnam veteran, has compiled the definitive resource of information on all 532 veterans (531 men and 1 woman) with direct ties to the eight counties of Western New York who were killed or died while on active duty in Vietnam.

In Pat's words..."We must never forget the sacrifices made by these young people."
