The founding fathers of the SPCA Serving Erie County are all interred here at Forest Lawn. Notables such as Millard Fillmore, William G. Fargo and George Tifft were some of its officers when it began in 1867.
The Executive Director of the SPCA Serving Erie County, Gary Willoughby, will present its history and officially open an exhibit about the SPCA, which will be on display in the Margaret L. Wendt Archive and Resource Center. To celebrate the 150th anniversary of the SPCA here in Erie County, the exhibit will center on the early founders of this prestigious organization.
The program will be presented in Forest Lawn's Margaret L. Wendt Archive and Resource Center located on the grounds of Forest Lawn at 1990 Main Street (directly across from Canisius College) with plenty of free parking available.
Please note that tickets for this presentation are $15 for general admission but are FREE for members of the Forest Lawn Heritage Foundation. (Members, please log into your account to redeem your free ticket.)
