The Seymour H. Knox family has made significant contributions to the business, educational, cultural, and artistic legacy of Western New York since the late 1800s.
Gerald Halligan, author of the book Knox Farm State Park, will discuss the S.H. Knox 5&10 stores (later F.W. Woolworths), the establishment of the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, the founding of the Buffalo Sabres hockey team, and the transformation of the family’s summer estate into Knox Farm State Park.
Copies of Mr. Halligan's book will be available for sale, and he will gladly autograph a copy for you.
The program will be presented in Forest Lawn's Margaret L. Wendt Archive and Resource Center located on the grounds of Forest Lawn at 1990 Main Street (directly across from Canisius College) with plenty of free parking available.
Please note that tickets for this presentation are $15 for general admission but are FREE for members of the Forest Lawn Heritage Foundation. (Members, please log into your account to redeem your free ticket.)
